Weekly Update November 21st

Important Dates/Events:

·         Tuesday, November 25^th– Thanksgiving Celebration 12:30-1:30

Upcoming Star of the Week:  No Star—Short Week – Aidan week of 12/1

Math: This week we completed our fifth unit, Addition Facts to 20.  Today we began our sixth unit, Subtraction Facts to 20.  We began today with making 10 to subtract.  Next week we will work again with making 10 to subtract and then work on using related facts to subtract more easily.  

Phonics:  Students continue work in the sixth unit, which focuses on basewords and the suffix s ending as in shops.  We will work on pluralization as well as the second sound for s as in the word bugs.  

Religion: As we enter into the Advent season, we will explore the liturgical calendar and the seasons of the Church.  At home, discussions of Advent will support student understanding.
