Good morning! I am excited to begin first grade with you and your family! First grade is a very exciting year. In the coming months, you will find extensive growth both academically and socially in your child.
I use my blog each week for a weekly update from 1A on Fridays, as well as posts and photos of various lessons and celebrations taking place in 1A several times a week. I hope that you'll find the blog to be a great resource and reference point for things going on in first grade. When you have time, please take a second to check out the links at the top of my blog that provide information for commonly asked questions. There is also a schedule for Star of the Week and links to academic resources.
This week, each family should receive a mailing from me at home with a questionnaire for you as parents to fill out about your child. This will help me get a sense of who your child is as a learner and give you an opportunity to express hopes or concerns for the upcoming year. There is also a letter enclosed about me, so you and your child get to know me a bit before we begin our work together!
I hope that everyone was able to access the summer work and school supply lists on the Blessed Sacrament website. We are hoping to have completed summer packets and student supplies on our first day of school, Wednesday, September 2nd. Supplies can be sent in with their original packaging, as I will help the students organize their materials on the first day.
I am always reachable by email and do my best to respond within 24 hours (usually much quicker) so pease feel free to send any questions my way!
Enjoy these last weeks of summer!
