Upcoming Scientist of the Week: No Scientist – Short Week
Math: Students nearing completion of our fourth unit, Addition and
Subtraction Facts to 12. Please let me
know if you have any questions. We have
been working with using ten frames to add and subtract. After our assessment next week, we began our
fifth unit, Addition Facts to 20. This
unit builds directly off unit four.
Phonics: Early next week, students will complete an assessment
on unit four, which covers the bonus letter spelling rule and glued sound “all”. We worked with the story, The Big Mess. Ask your child to read this story to you at
home! Up next is our fifth unit, which
covers the glued sounds “am” and “an” like in pan and ham.
Religion: Students have spent time thinking about Veteran’s Day. Next week in religion we will be making cards
for Holiday Mail for Heroes.
Science: Students were introduced to our unit on liquids this
week. Next week students will explore
different liquids in bottles and make comparisons between them. New vocabulary has been introduced. Ask your child about some of the new science
terms!
