Thursday, June 16th-- Mass at 11AM followed by noon dismissal
Field Trip: Our walking field trip of Walpole is scheduled for Monday, June 6th from 10-1. Students should wear their gym uniform and come to school with a bag lunch and snack as well as a water. No school lunch will be available to your child on this day. Our rain date is Tuesday. We will make a decision on Sunday about which day we will be going and I will email you to confirm.
Phonics: In phonics students are working on two syllable words with different syllable types. An example of one of these words is sunrise. Sun in sunrise is a closed syllable and rise in sunrise is a vowel-consonant e syllable. We continue to review two syllable words with both closed syllables as well. We spent time with these words in context in our short story, Jackson. Look for Jackson to come home with your child next week.
Math: In math this week continued making shapes out of the plane shapes that we have been working with in previous lessons. On Wednesdays we moved to solid figures. Students are working with the vocabulary vertices and flat surfaces as a way to compare solid figures.
Social Studies: Mrs. Arbuckle introduced the students to maps and map making on Wednesday. We are excited to put our knowledge to use on our trip next week!
