MLK Day
With winter weather in full force,
please send your child with a winter coat, hat, gloves, and boots (during snowy
weather) so that they can go outside for recess.
Math: On Monday we had our unit 6 assessment, which focused on
subtraction facts to 20. Assessments
were sent home with your child on Tuesday.
We began our 7th unit, Counting and Number Patterns to 120 on
Wednesday. We began by making numbers 11
to 19, using numbers 11 to 19, counting by tens and using a hundreds
chart. Our 8th unit will be
Tens and Ones, which we will begin after the break.
Phonics: We wrapped up work in unit six, which covered
basewords and the suffix s ending. Your
child’s assessment came home this week.
We began work in our seventh unit this week, which covers additional
glued sounds (and, ing, ong, ung, ank, ink, onk, and unk).
Religion: In religion we have continued discussing the Christmas story
as well as reviewing Advent and the Christmas season.
