Math: We began on Monday with our next unit, Geometry. We began with exploring plane shapes, making
an organized list, and building with shapes.
Next we will make new shapes with existing shapes, identify solid
figures, explore flat surfaces and vertices, sort solid figures, and build with
solid figures. Please keep up with math
fact practice at home as math facts will begin again next week!
Religion: Students have been learning about the Pentecost over the
past week. Today students had an
assessment on the Pentecost. We are
thinking about the ways that the Holy Spirit can help us in our daily lives.
Phonics: Next week we will enter our final week of unit 11. In this final week, we will work to add the suffix s ending to vowel-consonant-e or long vowel words. We are also working on our short story, Jake the Whale with attention to fluency and accuracy in oral reading.
Science: When students return to school next week, the
caterpillars will likely be in their chrysalis.
In several weeks we will schedule a trip to Adam’s Farm for a butterfly
release and picnic. I will send out the
final details on this as we solidify plans.
