Scientist of the Week: Please
see the blog below for an introduction to our Scientist of the Week program led
by Mrs. Arbuckle. If you have questions
about this initiative, please email Mrs. Arbuckle directly at: karbuckle@blessedsacrament.org
MAP Testing: Students
in 1A did an excellent job managing and completing their MAP testing this
week. I am very proud of their hard
work!
Upcoming Star of the Week: Andrew Hague
Math: We are working through unit three, Five and Ten
Relationships. This is a quick unit,
which will wrap up next Thursday. Up
next is our fourth unit, Addition and Subtraction Facts to 12.
Phonics: We are nearing the end of our third unit, which
focuses on digraphs. After the
assessment at the end of next week, we will begin our fourth unit which focuses
on the bonus letters spelling rule (pill,
cuff, fuss) and the glued sound all.
Religion: Students are learning about Jesus and his family and how we
relate to our families, using the Holy Family.
Guided Reading: Guided reading continued this week. Every group spent time reading, and
completing a written assignment related to their book. The goal of the written
work is to ensure students have appropriate comprehension of what is read. Students worked to read independently,
chorally, and through page alternation in their small group.
Have a great weekend!
