Adam's Farm: On Monday, May 23rd, we will travel to Adam's Farm in Walpole for out butterfly release from 9:00-11:00. Students should bring a bag snack and wear their gym uniforms. We are being driven by parent volunteers. If you would like your child to ride in a booster seat, please send one in on Monday morning. The groups will be sent out in a separate email and you can coordinate directly with your child's driver regarding boosters.
Phonics: This week in phonics students wrapped up unit eleven with an assessment on vowel-consonant-e words on Tuesday. We began two syllable words on Wednesday. Students will begin working with two syllable, short vowel words like bathtub or napkin. We are teaching the rules of syllable division. We will move to mixed syllable types in two syllable words later in the unit.
Math: In math students continue to work in our new unit, Geometry. We reviewed and taught the basic shapes; triangle, circle, hexagon, trapezoid, rectangle, square and rhombus. We will end the week building with these shapes. Next week students will be introduced to solid figures.
Religion: Students had an assessment on our Holy Spirit unit today. We will now move to a study of Mary.
