Upcoming Star of the Week: No Star – Short Week
Math: Students completed a cumulative assessment on units 1-4
which went home on Wednesday. Please let
me know if you have any questions. On
Tuesday we began our fifth unit, Addition Facts to 20. This unit builds directly off our last unit which covered addition and subtraction to 12.
Phonics: On Wednesday students completed an assessment on unit
four, which covered the bonus letter spelling rule and glued sound “all”. All the students did a great job! On Thursday we began our fifth unit, which
covers the glued sounds “am” and “an” like in pan and ham.
Religion: Students have spent time thinking about Veteran’s Day. Next week in religion we will be making cards
for Holiday Mail for Heroes.
Science: Students were introduced to our unit on liquids this
week. Next week students will explore
different liquids in bottles and make comparisons between them. New vocabulary has been introduced. Ask your child about some of the new science
terms!
Please consider making a contribution
to a school supplies drive for the children in Oaxaca, Mexico who will be
visiting the middle school students at BSS next week.
